Sicilian Brothers – Sicilian Street Food…in London!

When I moved to London from a small town in the countryside, I was very excited about the possibility of easily find Sicilian food, and I was very lucky to have Sicilian Brothers at Spitalfields, selling Arancine at the Friday Market in Lamb Street – just 10 mins from my office! What’s an “Arancina” ? A lovely, deep-fried rice ball stuffed with the most incredible things – my favorite indeed is the one with Mozzarella Cheese and Ham!

When I started to work on SicilianFoodCulture, I was looking for new ideas and partnerships and I’ve ended up having a meeting with an old acquaintance of mine, emigrated in the UK in search of fortune and fame, far from friends and family.

Guido Brucato is a small business man, and a chef with a big heart that tries to bring a glimpse of Sicily on british stomachs thanks to his small shop “Sicilian Brothers“!

SFC: Ciao Guido, welcome to Sicilian Food Culture and thanks for your time!

G: Baciamo le Mani! *The Godfather’s Theme starts playing*

SFC: So, tell us a bit about you, who is Guido?

G: I’m a Chef and a Sicilian food enthusiast. I decided a while ago to start my journey with the Sicilian Food and I became a small businessman – I am now able to give a glimpse of Sicily to my customers with every single Arancina that they are eating!

SFC: When did you get the idea for “Sicilian Brothers”?

G: It was the Winter of 2015.

SFC: We know that you are focused on Arancine – Which one your customers like the most?

G: Stuffed with Bolognese and Mozzarella!

SFC: Do you meet many “newbies” to Sicilian food, or your customers usually know exactly what they’re going to taste?

G: A lot of customers now know me and the Arancine – there is anyway a small amount of them that are trying the Sicilian Street food for the first time… and every time they are astonished!

SFC: Tell our Londoners Users where to find your shop!

G: You can find Sicilian Brothers at the following markets:
Wednseday (bi-weekly) à Spitalfield Market (Bishop Square) 11am – 3pm
Each Thursday at Cardinal Place Market (Victoria) 11am – 3pm
Each Friday at Spitalfield Market (Lamb street) 11am – 3pm
Each Saturday at Partridges Market (Duke of York Square-Chelsea) 9am – 4pm

SFC: Guido, thanks a lot again for your time!

G: It was my pleasure!! We look forward to seeing you!
