6) Frank Zappa

It is considered by critics to be one of the greatest musical geniuses of the twentieth century. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on 21 December 1940, son of Francis Zappa (born Francesco Zappa), an Italian industrial expert from Partinico (in the province of Palermo), and Rose Marie Zappa.

 

7) Al Pacino

The actor was born in East Harlem, a neighborhood in Manhattan (New York), on April 25th 1940 by Salvatore Pacino, an Italian-American insurance agent and restaurateur, son of Sicilian immigrants originating from San Fratello (in the province of Messina) , and by Rose Gelardi, an Italian-American housewife, daughter of Sicilian immigrants originating from Corleone (in the province of Palermo).

  1. My grandparents were from San Fratella. I was going to vitit the city when we were in Sicily but my husband fell and we had to come back home. I was so crushed that I couldn’t visit it.
