This morning I focused on a recipe of the Sicilian winter cuisine, ”Bucatini cui vrocculi arriminati”, written in dialect, in Italian is ”bucatini with mixed broccoli”, which obviously does not make much sense, or unless the same sense! It is a matter of mixing the pasta in the pan where we cooked the sauce with the broccoli and let it “grab”, then leave it to stay for a while, then someone as optional passes it in the oven for about ten minutes.
But I more reflected on the meaning of the word ”arrimi’nati”, which does not only mean ”mixed”, but also ”move on!”… in dialect if we say to someone ”arrimi’nati!”, we mean “hurry up, come on“, do not waste time, and this opposes to the stasis of those who lazily stand still and do not move, so they do not “arriminano”…cute, right?
