But what is one of the favourite breakfasts of longtime Sicilians? Surely this easy recipe of fried bread with sugar is in the hearts of many Sicilians around the world! Use stale bread from a few days, mind you, it should not be too hard! Cut it into thick slices. |

Meanwhile, beat the eggs in a bowl and pour the milk into another bowl. |

Take a slice of bread and soak it first in the milk, very lightly on both sides and immediately after soaking it in the egg. Continue the process for all the slices. |

Heat the olive oil on the stove and when hot enough, begin to lay the bread slices on the pan. |

Fry the bread slices on both sides and as soon as they are slightly browned (almost golden!), move them carefully to absorbent paper and immediately turn them in the sugar. |

Eat them piping hot and enjoy!! |
