A dinner with Sicilian Chef Francesco Tola at Season and Stir!
Francesco Tola, Sicilian-born, has been a chef for over 10 years and has cooked at Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. He is currently located in Detroit, MI. Growing up in Italy and Sicily helped mould much of his culinary experience. He learned first-hand from his mother and grandmother the importance of fresh, quality ingredients and he spent years cooking real, traditional Italian cuisine. Bringing his tradition and culture to each dish he creates and sharing with others what is real food is his passion. There is no greater joy than connecting with friends, family or even strangers over a beautiful meal!

The menu for the Season and Stir dinner was as follows:
Mixed Salad – dressing made from the Chef’s Father’s extra virgin olive oil from Sicily 2022 (private collection not for resale.) Wild oregano from Sicily and apple cider vinegar.
Then we had wild Argentinian red shrimp, potatoes foam, authentic spoked paprika from Spain (pimento de la Vera) which we carry at Season and Stir.
Next, we were served an Artisanal Paccheri from Gragnano Campania (which season and stir also carries) with imported Pancetta, the chef’s own preserve tomato, parmigiano reggiano and pecorino romano.
After the pasta came the Sicilian Spiedini which again featured the chef’s reserved tomato and oregano and was placed upon a delectable cheese fondue.

Finally, our dessert was a panna cotta with Madagascar vanilla and Aceto balsamico di Modena.
The dinner was amazing, and definitely, an incredible experience that we’ll do again – we are still thinking about it! Chef Francesco also brings a waitress – so serving and cleaning up was a breeze.
